What are the circles?
The Ubuntu Healing Circle
Virtual healing circle format designed by the Community Healing Network (CHN) and the
Association of Black Psychologists (ABPsi)
The Ubuntu Healing Circle is a Black affinity space.
● Created in response to COVID-19
● Provide space for unity, solidarity and healing for Black people → a “mini-retreat” from
external stressors
● Participation should result in people leaving feeling refreshed, recharged and renewed
● 1-11⁄2 hours with basic structure provided, but circle leaders and participants encouraged
create own unique experience
● Can be provided with family members and friends
● Provided in the spirit of “Ubuntu”
● Independently offered, are NOT Emotional Emancipation Circles (EECs)
It is important that spaces exist where Black and Brown bodies can safely gather to discuss, grieve, laugh, heal, feel and so much more. Please honor that The Ubuntu circles are for those who identify as Black.

The Umoja Healing Circle:
Virtual healing circle format similar to the UBUNTU Healing Circle designed by the Community Healing Network (CHN) and the
Association of Black Psychologists (ABPsi)
The Umoja Healing Circle is open to participants of all ethnicities.
● Created in response to COVID-19
● Provide space for unity, solidarity and healing for Everyone → a “mini-retreat” from
external stressors.● Participation should result in people leaving feeling refreshed, recharged and renewed
● 1-11⁄2 hours with basic structure provided, but circle leaders and participants encouraged
create own unique experience
● Provided in the spirit of “Umoja” (Unity)
● Independently offered, are NOT Emotional Emancipation Circles (EECs)
